Ciara is a fear-free certified Animal Services Advocate at New Leash. They studied Animal Sciences and Wildlife Biology at the University of Vermont. Ciara comes to New Leash with dog behavior and shelter medicine experience from their time at the Animal Care and Control Team and Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society. Ciara has worked with a variety of species, including wildlife and livestock, but specializes in canines. They have a 4-year-old pitbull named Chris, whom they fell in love with during their first shelter job. Ciara is passionate about removing barriers to accessing veterinary care and strengthening the bond between humans and animals.
