Harley came to New Leash with over 5 years of experience in animal welfare, starting as a kennel attendant at a New York dog rescue. After finding such love and passion for shelter dogs while in this position, Harley began assisting contracted trainers working to behaviorally rehabilitate long term dogs to give them a better chance at finally getting a home. Harley found himself relocating to Philly after “Vet-Med” sparked his interest, and so he began working as a Vet Nurse Assistant at ACCT, Philadelphia’s animal control and open intake shelter. In this position, he gained a plethora of knowledge on how to help sick/injured animals. While employed at ACCT, a position for Animal Control opened, he couldn’t deny himself of his childhood dream and opportunity to become real life “Go-Diego-Go!”

In this position Harley had his eyes opened to the struggle and challenges owners face in unfortunate life circumstances leading him to want to provide assistance and support for not just animals, but people too. New Leash on Life USA has given that opportunity to do so!
